Report: Thibodeau, GM Forman's relationship is strange, awkward, toxic

The Chicago Bulls and their fans have a lot to smile about this morning, after a 99-92 road victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers. The win nets them a 1-0 series lead over LeBron James and Co., and home-court advantage going forward in the matchup, to boot.
That hasn't stopped bitter NBA speculation from hitting the Windy City in the face this morning, though. In a report by Yahoo Sports/FOX Sports 1 NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the city was reminded of the seemingly inevitable end of beloved head coach Tom Thibodeau's reign. An account of an unnamed scout's bizarre trip through the Bulls' practice facility was especially telling:
The hope for Thibodeau supporters is that his front office will have their hand forced by an overwhelmingly impressive playoff showing from the Bulls, and lack the P.R. leverage needed to oust their combative coach. And while Monday night's big win certainly stands as a crucial piece of the argument to keep Thibodeau around, it's clear that Wojnarowski and other league insiders need to see more before they believe his job is fully safe.
Game 2 between the Bulls and the Cavs is Wednesday night. The persistence of talk about Thibodeau on the hot seat reminds us that the stakes will be higher than ever in that and every Bulls contest for the rest of this postseason.

[He] had the opportunity to watch the awkward, strange interplay between Bulls general manager Gar Forman and Thibodeau. Eventually, the man walked into the office of an assistant coach and asked: "What the hell is the deal here?"
Before answering, the coach turned his fan on full blast. For the visitor, everything was becoming even stranger. He gave the assistant a befuddled look, as though to say, "What are you doing?"
"I'm not taking any chances," the coach said, refusing to risk the possibility of those walls being bugged.
