Report: Mavericks will target Aldridge this summer

The Dallas Mavericks are in a tailspin. They won't have Chandler Parsons for the rest of the postseason, and Rajon Rondo's tenure just exploded in their face.

But free agency is just on the horizon, and with it could come one of the best 15 basketball players on the planet.

The Mavericks will have plenty of cap space this summer if they renounce several of their pending free agents (Tyson Chandler, Rondo) and Monta Ellis exercises his player option (as he's expected to do).

Aldridge is the big fish they desperately need in order to get back in the hunt. Either that, or watch Dirk Nowitzki's career fade to black on a mediocre squad.
