Report: LeBron James to campaign with Hillary Clinton Sunday in Cleveland

LeBron James will hit the campaign trail with Hillary Clinton right before Election Day, New York Magazine reports.
James, who has reportedly never met Clinton, formally endorsed the Democratic candidate in October and will appear at a rally with her in Cleveland on Sunday afternoon.
“Only one person running truly understands the struggles of an Akron child born into poverty,” James wrote in an op-ed for Business Insider. “And when I think about the kinds of policies and ideas the kids in my foundation need from our government, the choice is clear. That candidate is Hillary Clinton.”
Ohio is traditionally a swing state, and James’s presence could influence the state’s 18 electoral voters, in theory. Though the influence of celebrity on politics can be difficult to assess, the Cleveland native’s popularity in his home state, where the Cavaliers won last season’s NBA championship, certainly cannot be undersold.
