Report: Knicks sign Travis Trice

Published Sep. 11, 2015 2:43 p.m. ET

Do you like a guy who dribbled a lot, chucks up fun but contested shots and sometimes hits the impossible ones? Those guys are fun, right? Well, the Knicks just got one of them.

From Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports:

The Knicks have 13 guaranteed contracts on the roster, but that number doesn't include Langston Galloway, who has got to be considered a lock to make the squad after making Second-Team All-Rookie last season and impressing at Las Vegas Summer League. That leaves one roster spot for four non-guaranteed players, including Trice, Wesley Saunders, Darion Atkins and Thanasis Antetokounmpo, whom the Knicks had a look at in the D-League after drafted him during the second round of the 2014 NBA Draft.

The Knicks have been public about their desire to find another 1 or 2 to fill into the roster, so it'd be presumptive to say Trice doesn't have a shot to make a roster which already houses Jose Calderon, Aron Afflalo, Jerian Grant and probably Langston Galloway. A fifth guard/third point guard is in the calling cards. Maybe, if he impresses in training camp or even as a practice player, Trice stands a chance after a strong career playing for MSU coach Tom Izzo, who tends to produce fundamentally strong NBA players.
