Report: Friends of Tom Thibodeau believe he'll be fired
The Chicago Bulls are up 3-0 on the Milwaukee Bucks in their first-round playoff series, while LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers are up 3-0 on the Boston Celtics in the bracket next to them.
You know what that means. A long-awaited showdown between Derrick Rose's Bulls and LeBron's Cavs is all but inevitable, and basketball fans everywhere are drooling at all the operatic tension that the series will host.
Chicago faithful have one particular reason to fret about the outcome, though, and it's a rather unpleasant one. Many believe that, after a season of swirling rumors, Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau is essentially fighting for his job against Cleveland. And, according to a recent column by Grantland's Zach Lowe, whether the Bulls win or lose might not even matter.
"People close to Thibodeau," Lowe writes, "are convinced the Bulls will fire him after this season, though the front office has always played down the tiff in terse public statements."
Enjoy this exciting moment of Bulls basketball, Chicago. It might not last for too much longer.
