Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin could make his much-anticipated return to action Sunday when the team hosts the Houston Rockets.

Griffin has been upgraded from "out" to "questionable" on the injury report, according to the Los Angeles Times. Griffin last played Feb. 6, before having surgery to remove a staph infection from his right elbow.

The decision about Griffin's status will come after the team's walkthrough Sunday.

"I'll let you know if Blake plays," Clippers head coach Doc Rivers told reporters, according to the Los Angeles Times. "I don't know yet, so the door's still open."

Griffin is averaging 22.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists in 51 games this season.

Los Angeles has gone 9-6 without Griffin in the lineup the past five-plus weeks.
