Report: Brandon Knight wanted in range of four years, $48 million last year

Phoenix Suns guard Brandon Knight didn't get to spend a whole lot of time on the floor with his new team this season.

After being traded from the Milwaukee Bucks, Knight played in just 11 games for the Suns due to an ankle issue, which he recently addressed by undergoing arthroscopic surgery. Now he and the Suns both face an offseason of uncertainty.

Knight will be a restricted free agent this summer, meaning the Suns have the ability to match any offer sheet Knight signs.

What happens from there may depend on how much money Knight is looking for in his new deal.

Here's Sean Deveney of the Sporting News with more details:

"Knight was much improved this season, but still won’t be in line for a deal of (Eric) Bledsoe’s magnitude," Deveney wrote. "In discussing an extension last year, the Bucks held the line on Knight at $9 million per year, where Knight wanted something in the range of four years and $48 million."

"It might take a little more to sign Knight this summer, given his improvement in his time with Milwaukee, and the fact that he could always sign a qualifying offer and become an unrestricted free agent, which would set him up for the summer of 2016 TV-money bonanza."
