Quincy Pondexter had yet to play for the Pelicans this season after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery over the summer, but the thinking was that he'd be set to return at some point over the next couple of weeks.

According to a report from Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports, Pondexter will need to undergo an additional surgery that will sideline him for the rest of the season.

Injuries have been to blame for the slow start in New Orleans thus far, and getting Pondexter back would have been a nice boost to the rotation. After coming over in a midseason trade with the Grizzlies last season, Pondexter averaged a career-best nine points in 27.8 minutes per contest, while shooting 43.3 percent from three-point distance.
