Practice? Iverson a no-show for Hoop Hall induction warmup

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) Allen Iverson was a no-show for the pre-induction news conference at the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame on Thursday, a day before he was scheduled to become a member of the basketball shrine.

We're not talking about the induction ceremony.

We're talking about an availability that's a sort of, you know, practice for the actual event.

There was no immediate explanation for Iverson's absence. Except for those inducted posthumously or affected by travel plans, it is unusual for an inductee to miss the Thursday event.

Hall officials said Iverson will attend Friday night's induction ceremony.

Among the others to be inducted at Symphony Hall on Friday night are Shaquille O'Neal, Yao Ming and Michigan State coach Tom Izzo.
