New York Knicks: Derrick Rose Wears New PJ Shirt
Derrick Rose’s son, PJ, has become something of an internet celebrity. The New York Knicks point guard embraced the memes with a new t-shirt.
With just one year remaining on his contract, the Chicago Bulls shockingly traded point guard Derrick Rose. The Chicago native and fan favorite was sent from one big city to another as the New York Knicks dealt three players to acquire him.
Though leaving his hometown wasn’t easy, Rose has wholeheartedly embraced his status as a New Yorker.
Rose is projected to be the starting point guard for the Knicks in 2016-17. He’s due $21,323,252 in base salary and will become an unrestricted free agent during the summer of 2017.
Rose showed his appreciation for New York with an awesome, “I Love New York,” T-Shirt that features his son’s face.

Dad goals.
Rose is in the midst of a transition that’s likely weighing heavily upon him. He grew up in Chicago, Illinois, and spent the first eight years of his NBA career as the hometown hero for the Bulls.
At 27 years of age, Rose was forced to up and move to a new city that may not be his home for more than a single NBA season.
Rose led Chicago to its greatest success of the post-Michael Jordan era. He became the only Bulls player not named Jordan to win NBA MVP and led Chicago to 62 wins in 2010-11—the most by any Bulls team since Jordan retired in 1998.
Rose also took the Bulls to the Eastern Conference Finals, which was the deepest run by a non-MJ Bulls team since 1975.
This past season, Rose averaged 16.4 points, 4.7 assists, and 3.4 rebounds in 31.8 minutes per game. He did so on a slash line of .427/.293/.793 and averaged 17.4 points on a slash line of .468/.375/.784 after the All-Star Break.
In 2016-17, Rose will look to prove himself to the Knicks’ fans and front office.
If he succeeds in doing so, Rose could make New York his home for years to come.
