New York Knicks: Brandon Jennings Has Carmelo Anthony's Back

New York Knicks sixth man Brandon Jennings normally pays no mind to his rating in the NBA 2K series, but he can’t believe he’s rated lower than Jared Dudley.
Brandon Jennings is in the unenvious position of attempting to complete his comeback from a ruptured achilles tendon. He played 48 games in 2015-16, which should help with the elimination of rust, but he’s still facing a sense of skepticism.
Jennings understands that he has something to prove, but he can’t wrap his head around being rated lower than Jared Dudley in NBA 2K17.
According to Adam Campbell of Complex Sports, Jennings held nothing back in singling Dudley out..
“When I looked at other guys’ ratings—and I’m not trying to throw shade—but when they had Jared Dudley ranked higher than me, I was like I’m not rolling with that one,” he says.
Talk about loyalty to the Knicks.
Jennings may not have meant it in this way, but this isn’t the first time a member of the Knicks has had an issue with Dudley. Dudley infamously called Carmelo Anthony the most overrated player in the NBA in May of 2015.
Anthony proceeded to drop 37 points on 11-of-18 shooting against Dudley and the Washington Wizards during their first encounter of the 2015-16 season.
As for Jennings, he’s a seven-year NBA veteran who has started 416 regular season and 11 postseason games. He has career averages of 15.5 points, 5.9 assists, 3.1 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 1.8 3-point field goals made.
Dudley is a nine-year veteran with 253 regular season and zero postseason starts, and career averages of 8.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.0 3-point field goal made.
Jennings’ up-and-down 2015-16 campaign creates reasonable doubt, but it’s still a matter of the Knicks against Dudley. His comments about Anthony were a bit of a low blow from an active player who still has to battle the star he called overrated.
Anthony, of course, is the first and only male basketball player in Olympic history to win three gold medals
Whether intentionally or otherwise, Jennings has Anthony’s back.
