NBA Rumors: Boston Celtics Interested In Trading For Andrew Bogut

NBA Rumors: Boston Celtics interested In Andrew Bogut?
The Dallas Mavericks own the NBA’s worst record. They’re currently seven games back of the eighth seed in the West, and have shown no real signs of turning their season around.
However, at least until now, the Mavs are not ready to throw in the towel on the season. They’re not looking to unload their veteran assets as of yet. Though, if the Mavs continue this downward spiral, that sentiment could change rather quickly.
And the Boston Celtics are hoping so. Per a report from CSNNE.com, the Celtics are expected to be in the market for a defensive-minded big man. Dallas Mavericks center Andrew Bogut, who is on an expiring contract, could be the man for Boston.

As the February trade deadline draws near, the Boston Celtics are expected to take a close look at adding a defensive-minded, rebounding big man with Dallas’ Andrew Bogut likely to emerge as a target.
If the Celtics are looking to make one last upgrade to their roster before the playoff run, Bogut could fit the bill. He’s a 7-footer who can rebound, defend the rim and is an underrated distributor. He’s the ultimate professional and has championship experience.
And let’s not act like Boston doesn’t have the necessary assets to pull off such a move. One first-round pick could be enough to pry Bogut away from the Mavs. And Dallas, sooner or later, is too smart NOT to make such a move.
If the Mavs were able to transform Bogut’s expiring contract into a first-round pick, well that’d be a huge win – something that hasn’t exactly come easy for this team this season.
Bogut is currently sidelined a couple weeks with a knee injury, so if any deal would come to fruition it wouldn’t happen any time soon. This is the type of move that will likely happen, if it does, much closer to the NBA Trade Deadline anyways.
