Miami Heat: Josh McRoberts Recovering From Broken Foot As Camp Begins

The Miami Heat’s Josh McRoberts is still recovering from a broken foot, which occurred last season, as training camp begins

Dwyane Wade left the Miami Heat. Chris Bosh doesn’t appear to be returning, either. Josh McRoberts, however, is hurt. Again. I suppose some things never change?

Ok, that might be too harsh. But, it’s been somewhat true for McRoberts’ tenure with the team. Through McBob’s first two seasons with the Heat, he’s only played in 59 regular season games. He’s missed 105. Yeesh.

Yup, that’s not good. No matter how you look at it.

This time around, he’s on the bench with a (still) recovering broken foot. Perhaps the worst part of it all, it happened roughly four months ago, in the Heat’s Game 6 against the Toronto Raptors.

The fact that he’s not over that injury is, at the very least, a little surprising.

Josh McRoberts went through last evening’s non-contact practice. But he worked on the side in this morning’s contact practice due to injury.

Josh McRoberts said he broke his left foot in Game 6 of the Toronto series. Led to stress reaction in August.

Josh McRoberts on receiving criticism from fans: “I’m a big white guy who gets hurt all the time. I wouldn’t like me either.”

Josh McRoberts is like the anti-Wolverine in which he doesn’t heal at an inhumane rate. It’s actually quite amazing, and frustrating – for both he and the fans.

The re-injury – or whatever you want to call the stress reaction – to McRoberts makes matters even worse now that Chris Bosh isn’t expected to be with the team at all this season, and moving forward.

McBob was presumed to be the starting power forward with Bosh out. Now, that could all change. Depending on how much longer McBob is out, this could end up being a huge loss for the Miami Heat. A team that has already endured so much before the start of the season.
