Las Vegas likes odds on Thibodeau as next Pelicans head coach

Tom Thibodeau is technically still under contract with the Chicago Bulls for $9 million over the next two seasons, but that isn't stopping Las Vegas from thinking he'll replace Monty Williams as head coach of the New Orleans Pelicans next season.

Here's more from the Chicago Sun-Times' David Just

"Instead, Bovada lists Thibodeau taking over the New Orleans Pelicans as the even-money favorite. Taking over the Orlando Magic is 5-to-2, and remaining with the Bulls appears to be the longshot at 3-to-1. Thibodeau is 4-to-1 to end up anywhere else and 5-to-1 to not coach at all."

This makes sense if you think Thibodeau will get to hand pick his next job after he parts ways with the Bulls. The Pelicans have superstar Anthony Davis, which inherently makes that position extremely attractive.

There's always the chance Thibodeau works out his issues with Chicago's management and sticks around for at least one more season, but the writing seems to be on the wall.
