LA Clippers point guard Chris Paul has recovered from the injury that ruled him out of the NBA playoffs, and now he’s back on the court again.

One moment, the LA Clippers and Chris Paul had possibly the easiest path to the Western Conference Finals they’ve had. The Golden State Warriors were pressing on without Stephen Curry due to a MCL sprain, and the Clippers had a chance to capitalize in the second round because of it. Then, a matter of hours later in Game 4 of the first round against Portland, Paul broke a bone in his right and Blake Griffin sustained further injury to his already hindered quadricep.

The Clippers’ briefly promising playoff run was derailed in an instant, but now their stars are beginning to get back on track this summer.

Dan Woike of the Orange County Register has reported what Chris Paul had to say at an event with State Farm. He said that the bone he had broken after his hand was caught in the shorts of a Gerald Henderson layup attempt has healed, adding that he’s back on a court to train.

With a few weeks till the 2016-17 preseason and even longer until the regular season, it’s encouraging for Clippers fans that Paul is back on the court now.

There haven’t been any further elaborations as to whether his hand and wrist are back at 100 percent, but they must be close to it if he said he’s “healed,” rather than just “almost there”.

This adds to the positive news of Griffin’s recovery, too.

In a conversation on J.J. Redick’s podcast, Griffin revealed that he only took a week off after undergoing surgery for his quad. He said he didn’t believe he needed a summer break, and has instead put all his focus into training to get back in top shape for the start of the season, ensuring that his quad is no longer giving him lingering issues as it did for so many months in 2015-16.

Along with the health of both Paul and Griffin, combined with far more roster continuity after making fewer adjustments to their bench this summer than last year, the LA Clippers look set to start the season strong.
