Kobe Bryant is teaming up with John Williams to make an animated film
Kobe Bryant announced his plan to retire from the game of basketball last November in a letter titled Dear Basketball, which was published on Derek Jeter's Players' Tribune.
Dear Basketball is now set to become an animated short film, and Bryant is collaborating with some Hollywood legends on the project.
Time Inc. announced Wednesday that Bryant will narrate Dear Basketball, which will premiere in the fall on Sports Illustrated's website.
Glen Keane, who worked for more than 30 years with Walt Disney Animation Studios, will direct the film. Keane served as an animator on more than a dozen Disney classics, including The Little Mermaid and Aladdin.
Five-time Academy Award winner and 50-time Academy Award nominee John Williams will write the score for the film, according to Variety. Bryant has long been a fan of Williams, and even has a portrait of him in his office.
