Kemba Walker to blog throughout season for Hornets

Kemba Walker has extended an invitation to NBA fans everywhere to get a little peek into his mind, and it would be in everybody’s best interest to accept it. The Charlotte Hornets posted on Twitter yesterday that Walker would be doing frequent blog posts throughout the season for fans to follow along with, and get a taste of what it’s like to go through the grind of an NBA season. There’s no set timetable to how frequently these will be updated, and it’s unlikely we’ll get to hear any company secrets, but it’s always cool to see NBA players open up to fans like this. Walker’s first post went up Sunday evening.

Walker’s first post of this season, which is actually a continuation of a few blog posts he had last season, relates to Walker’s offseason rehab and media day. He doesn’t give too much insight into what’s going on, but he does say that he’s happy to be playing with Brian Roberts and Ramon Sessions again with some quick thoughts on Roy Hibbert.

Obviously Walker wasn’t going to let fans go too deep into the Hornets, and these posts of his are going to be largely positive, but that’s really what should be expected from a post going up on the team’s official site. Hopefully once the season kicks off we’ll get some more entertaining moments such as funny plane stories, how he chose to prep for a road trip, and maybe if we’re lucky a reaction to a game winner or two. If these blog posts are a success we might be lucky enough to see more teams letting their players blog for their official sites, and express themselves a little more.

No word on if these posts are being written in their mother’s basement or not. Our sources wouldn’t reveal that to us.
