Karl-Anthony Towns visits 2K studio, "leaks" Timberwolves 2K rating

Earlier this week, Timberwolves big man Karl Anthony-Towns spent some time at the 2K studios to preview the newest NBA 2K release, 2K17.
The annual release of the NBA 2k series game is always exciting, and even the weeks leading up to the game being out is always a ton of fun.
On Tuesday, Timberwolves’ reigning Rookie of the Year Karl-Anthony Towns got a sneak peak of the game with Ronnie Singh, aka “Ronnie 2K”, the digital marketing director for the franchise. On these visits, Ronnie typically will allow players to play the game ahead of it’s release date.
This visit was slightly different than most, however. Karl Anthony-Towns “leaked” the team rating for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
In all honesty, the first time I saw this picture I thought it was a joke. The Minnesota Timberwolves are the fifth-best team in the game?! Someone has to be pulling my leg. However, this information comes straight from the reigning Rookie of the Year — from the 2K studios.
This is quite the nod from the 2K team. The most recent update of the current NBA 2K16 game places the Timberwolves as the 22nd-best team in the game. Of course, these ratings are subject to change over the course of the season. But, as it stands now the team at 2K have high expectations for the Wolves.
The other part of Karl’s visit involved wearing a suit. However, it was not to attend an award show.
The get-up that Karl is wearing is a motion capture suit, which is used in video game production to capture the exact movements of whomever is wearing the suit. This means that Karl’s movements and style of play will be perfectly replicated in the upcoming release of 2K.
Karl’s Snapchat video’s showed off this technology in action with one on one against D’Angelo Russell.
Overall, it looks like it was a successful day for the former Wildcat. He’s now completely immersed in NBA2k, and managed to share his team’s rating with the Wolves fan base.
If the real life Wolves are as good as the developers of the worlds biggest basketball game say they are, then Timberwolves fans are in for an exciting year.
