Joakim Noah on whether he'll stay at Trump hotels: 'Nah, probably not'

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

Knicks center Joakim Noah supports the decision made by LeBron James and some of his Cavaliers teammates not to stay at Donald Trump’s hotels, and says he’ll likely join him.

“Nah, probably not,” Noah said, when asked if he’ll stay at hotels with the President-elect’s name on them, according to the New York Daily News.

“I think it’s just a comfort level, you know. Stick to your principles. Whoever you are,” he continued. “Trump is our president. But that doesn’t mean we have to stay at his hotel.”

The veteran bigman has spoken out on several occasions regarding violence, and chose not to attend a team dinner with Army cadets before the season over an anti-war stance. On election night, he tweeted out, “How!!!!!”

The Bucks, Grizzlies and Mavericks have already stopped staying at Trump’s hotels this season. Cavaliers guard Iman Shumpert recently said he wouldn’t visit a Trump White House if the team were to win another title during his time in office.
