James sits out Heat-Spurs preseason game

LeBron James missed Miami's preseason game against San Antonio on Saturday night, sitting out in favor of rest and maintenance.

James had played in all five of the previous Heat exhibitions this fall. He said there was no injury concern, adding, ''it's OK for LeBron to take one off.''

The Heat have two games next week before wrapping up the preseason schedule. James said he expects to play Wednesday when Miami visits New Orleans, and suggested that he would not play in the exhibition finale at home against Brooklyn on Friday.

James Jones started in James' place, along with other regular Miami starters Udonis Haslem, Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade and Mario Chalmers.
