Hornets' Ariza leaves with ankle sprain

Published Feb. 2, 2011 9:58 p.m. ET

Forward Trevor Ariza has left the New Orleans Hornets' game against Oklahoma City with a sprained right ankle.

Ariza was injured when he came down from a shot attempt and landed on the foot of the Thunder's Jeff Green. He limped to the locker room with 9:29 left in the third quarter, and the team said he would not return.

In the first quarter, All-Star point guard Chris Paul left the game with a left ankle sprain. He was able to return in the second quarter.

The Hornets are already without starting center Emeka Okafor because of a left oblique strain.
