Hawks recall rookie center Payne from Fort Wayne

ATLANTA (AP) The Atlanta Hawks have recalled rookie center Adreian Payne from Fort Wayne of the NBA Development League.

Forward Mike Muscala was assigned to Fort Wayne.

Payne, the team's first-round pick from Michigan State, is returning to Atlanta from his second stint with Fort Wayne. He is tied for seventh in the Development League with his average of 10.5 rebounds and has not appeared in a game with Atlanta.

Muscala averaged 4.6 points and 2.2 rebounds in five games with Atlanta.
