Grizzlies sign first-round draft selection Jarell Martin

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) The Memphis Grizzlies have signed first-round draft pick Jarell Martin.

The team announced the signing Friday without disclosing terms of the deal.

Martin, a 6-foot-10 forward from LSU, was the 25th overall selection in last month's draft. He averaged 13.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game over his two-year college career.

As a sophomore this past season, Martin ranked third in the Southeastern Conference in scoring (16.9) rebounding (9.2) and field-goal percentage (.509). He had 15 double-doubles, including five in his last seven games.
