After an up and down performance in the playoffs for the Golden State Warriors, Stephen Curry admits that he wasn’t 100 percent in the NBA Finals.

We kind of all knew it, but it was never confirmed by Stephen Curry or the Golden State Warriors. Now, a little more than two months removed from losing in the NBA Finals to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Curry admits that he was battling through injury for much of the postseason.

After his original ankle injury and then the big one, both against the Houston Rockets, in which he sprained his MCL and missed a few weeks, it was pretty clear that Curry was never the same player again.

Curry says he “wasn’t 100 percent”. Yea, to say the least.

“I wasn’t 100 percent, but who cares? I was playing. I was out there trying to help my team win and that’s all that really matters. I’ve taken advantage of the summer to get right and I still have a little bit of work to go.”

In the end, though, it doesn’t change anything. Perhaps that’s probably why it was never addressed by the team, his coach or Curry. Even if he would’ve said he wasn’t 100 percent after Game 5 or 6, it probably doesn’t change the fact that they would go on to lose Game 7.

As Curry says, “who cares”. Curry was out there and couldn’t get the job done. Looking back, no one is going to remember that Curry was injured.

Instead, we’re going to remember the Cavaliers coming back from a 3-1 series deficit and LeBron James dominating in every facet imaginable.

Was Curry injured? Sure, but history won’t remember it. The main thing is that Curry get healthy and back to 100 percent ahead of the new season. If he can do that, that’s all that really matters.

The Golden State Warriors and Stephen Curry had a great regular season in 2015-16. The injury bug hit them in the postseason, and there’s nothing they can do about that. Sometimes you get the short end of the stick.
