Ginobili returns to practice hours after son's birth, but Pop's not impressed

Manu Ginobili knows how to make the most of a busy week.
Not a day after the Spurs beat the Mavericks in Game 1 of their playoff series, the shooting guard dashed off to the hospital to be present for the birth of his son before making it back to the AT&T Center on Monday for practice.
"Woke up at 4:45," the shooting guard told the San Antonio Express-News. "Get ready. Pack. Go to the clinic and wait for a couple hours and witness a C-section. I held that baby as long as I could and then down here. Basically that was it."
Thrilled to announce that today at 7.47am, Luca, our 3rd boy was born. Wifey and the baby are both doing great. #SuperHappyDad

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich gave Ginobili props for his time management skills.
"He went in there this morning and a half hour later he was back at practice. Pretty efficient guy," Pop said.
But lest anyone think he had lost his crusty edge (particularly after this heartfelt show of support), the NBA coach of the year then came back with a perfectly Pop finish.
"I told him, 'Manu, you didn't do anything," Popovich declared. "Your wife is efficient. You're not efficient. You didn't do anything.'"
