Gentry: Tyreke Evans could miss 6-8 weeks with knee injury

The Pelicans are the trendy pick to make a leap in the standings this season, but the health issues that have plagued them in the past are present once again.

The latest injury is one to the knee of Tyreke Evans, who needed arthroscopic surgery to repair it and is expected to miss the next couple of months.

Evans was an ironman of sorts for New Orleans last year, appearing in 79 games and averaging 17.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per contest. It's not a great sign that he's scheduled to miss time to begin the upcoming season.
