Dwyane Wade has a shockingly pessimistic view of the Bulls' title hopes

After 13 seasons in Miami, Dwyane Wade finally gets a chance to play for his hometown Chicago Bulls this season. It’s safe to say he’s going to be a fan favorite in Chi-town.

But the three-time NBA champion might have lost a few supporters after what he said Tuesday. Wade was asked about the Bulls’ title prospects this season, and he didn’t give the fans a hopeful outlook. Despite having Wade, Jimmy Butler and Rajon Rondo on their roster, the former Heat superstar said Chicago’s focus should be improving each day with the hopes of returning to the playoffs.

When pressed about the Bulls’ chances to capture the franchise’s seventh title, he said the team’s goal of winning a title is “unrealistic.”

Wade isn’t completely off-base here. The Warriors, Spurs and Clippers should be very strong in the West and the defending champion Cavs are expected to make their third consecutive trip to the Finals. Wade might be tempering expectations as the season approaches, but this comment was nonetheless surprising.
