Derrick Favors isn't into 'Star Wars' but admits another nerdy fandom

With all the recent hoopla surrounding the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" release, many NBA players have weighed in on the beloved film franchise.
Utah's Derrick Favors, who also recently discussed his obsession with comic books, reportedly told KSL.com's Ben Dowsett that he's not very familiar with the "Star Wars" movies. Favors did, however, "guarantee" that he's the most obsessed "Lord of the Rings" fan on the Jazz.
While there's no report on the extend of Favors' "Lord of the Rings" fandom, he was also asked if he planned to see the new "Star Wars" movie released this week.
“I’ve got kids, so I don’t know if I’m going to have time. Star Wars is like a three-hour movie, isn’t it?” said Favors, via Deseret News. "Star Wars, I wasn’t really into it that much growing up."
The report in Deseret News reports that Utah's Australian-born Dante Exum watched the first six episodes of the series last week and "really liked them a lot" -- so at least The Force is strong with the Jazz somewhere.
