DeRozan scores 21 to lead Raptors past Grizzlies, 98-85

TORONTO (AP) DeMar DeRozan scored 21 points, Kyle Lowry added 18 and the Toronto Raptors beat the Memphis Grizzlies 98-85 Sunday night for their eighth consecutive win at home.

Jonas Valanciunas had 10 points and 12 rebounds for his 13th double-double of the season. Cory Joseph scored 14 off the bench to help the Raptors rebound from consecutive losses at Minnesota and Chicago.

It was the Raptors' first home game since a Jan. 30 victory over Detroit. Toronto hosted the NBA All-Star Game last weekend.

Zach Randolph had 18 points and Mario Chalmers scored 17 for the Grizzlies. Vince Carter added 16 against his former team.

Lance Stephenson scored 16 points in his Grizzlies debut after arriving from the Los Angeles Clippers in a trade last Thursday.

Entering the fourth quarter with a 10-point deficit, Memphis missed four of its first five shots and allowed the Raptors to increase their lead to a game-high 14 on Patrick Patterson's 3-pointer with 9:10 remaining.

Though the Grizzlies closed the gap to five on a pair of occasions, Joseph's 3-pointer from the top of the arc with 1:09 left re-established the 10-point advantage and virtually ended any chance of a Memphis comeback.

Toronto led 46-43 at halftime and built on that in the third quarter behind eight points apiece from Valanciunas and DeRozan to establish a 74-64 advantage entering the final 12 minutes.

The Raptors got eight points from Lowry and 14 more off the bench in the second period and opened a 12-point lead just after the midway point. However, Memphis got 10 points from Carter, including three free throws following Terrence Ross' foul as the former Raptor star was attempting a 45-foot 3-pointer with 1.6 seconds left. That closed the deficit to three at the break.

Randolph made his first three shots as Memphis jumped out to a lead off the opening tip. Toronto went ahead for the first time on a pair of free throws by DeRozan with 2:04 left in the first quarter. Joseph's 3 as time expired gave the Raptors a 22-20 edge heading into the second.
