The Denver Nuggets won a thriller in Minnesota, and they saw one of their best and mostconsistent threats in Darrell Arthur return to action.
The fourth game of the Nugget’s early season marked the first game for Darrell Arthur. Arthur underwent knee surgery about a month before training camp opened in Omaha.
Training camp reports indicated that Arthur participated in mainly non-contact drills in an effort to have him ready for the season opener.
Practices prior to game against the New Orleans Pelicans had Arthur going at full speed. However, Arthur’s knee was swollen after these practices which led the Nuggets to hold him out of the first three games.

Arthur’s basketball conditioning will initially be a question. It will be good to see him on the floor even if his minutes will be limited.

Quarter One: 3 minutes, 0 rebounds, 0-2 from the floor
The first quarter was another disappointment for the Denver Nuggets. Arthur’s movement looked good but his shots were off the mark. Arthur is known for being a streaky shooter and his fortunes can change in a matter minutes.

Quarter 2: 5 Minutes, 2 Points, 1 Assist, 2 Rebounds,
With about six minutes left in the 2nd Quarter Arthur made a nice defensive play against Karl- Anthony Towns. A swipe of the ball from the 2nd year big man’s hands was nice work for the 7-year pro out of the University of Kansas.
Later in the quarter he knocked down a mid-range jumper for his first points of the season. His work on the defensive end appears to be a continued staple of Arthur’s game as he seemed to be in the thick of things and always around the ball. This is the type of activity that made the Nuggets resign Arthur this past off-season.

Quarter 3:
The Nuggets had another outstanding third quarter. Positives occurred from the all the players that were on the floor. Darrell Arthur did not see any minutes this quarter. It is unclear if he was having some issues with his knee coming out of the halftime locker room.

Quarter 4:
With Arthur not seeing the floor with the second unit early in the fourth quarter the Nuggets are either being really cautious or there may be another setback in Arthur’s comeback.
The Nuggets seem to have a nervous approach to the fourth quarter this season. Turnovers and shots not falling during the last quarter seem to be what is ailing the Nuggets. This has led to a lack of confidence during this quarter. The Nuggets simply need someone to take control of this quarter and lead the team to some much-needed points.
This game seen a similar 4th for the Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets were simply dominate in the paint during the third quarter but the fourth quarter seemed to have the Nuggets heaving up long ranged three-point shots. A little too much one on one with lots of dribbling out front. The unsuccessful offensive possessions are very concerning. However, the Nuggets found their way back into the win column.
It will be interesting to see how Arthur’s knee reacts to his first action of the season but most importantly the Nuggets have another W!
