Ever since the Melo exodus, the Denver Nuggets have struggled to find quality play makers. Wilson Chandler may be able to fill this quenchable void.

Along with Will Barton, Nikola Jokic and Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler should be considered a consistent playing threat for this young Denver Nuggets squad.

If your team isn’t named the Cleveland Cavaliers or for this years sake the Oklahoma City Thunder, you will need SEVERAL (and I mean 4-5) capable playmakers in order to receive real recognition.

While the face of the Denver Nuggets’ franchise ever since Carmelo Anthony left has been Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler may be able to implant his name as a capable leader on this team.

Wilson Chandler has provided a spark for the Denver Nuggets so far this preseason. Outside of Danilo Gallinari, who has only attempted nine threes this preseason, Wilson Chandler has been queued up as the Nuggets main deep threat: an area that they severely lacked in last season. He has been on fire knocking down 1.8 threes per game in his five preseason game and shooting 39.1% from deep.

Let’s not forget that along with drilling the deep ball, Wilson Chandler has yet to cause the Nuggets heartache. With his mere 1.2 turnovers per game this preseason, Wilson Chandler could finally be breaking out of his shell after an season ending hip injury last year.

Statistically, Ill Will this preseason has been a top Nugget in true shooting percentage and usage rate along with several other key stats. Numbers never lie, but they can be manipulated. Chandler’s numbesr through these games have both been outstanding and dumbfounding to the fans that have been waiting to see the Nuggets arrive in the playoffs.

Ill Will, as they like to call him, has already thrown down some monster dunks this preseason also.

Chandler has been driving, dishing, scoring, and shooting well- all with a small amount of turnovers. I definitely expect his confidence to role into the regular season.

Along with Will Barton, the Nuggets bench will have the tools to be the best in the NBA. Combine that with either rookie Jamal Murray or veteran Jameer Nelson and bigs Keneth Faried and Darrell Arthur, this depth will be key in their battling for contention throughout the dreadful West.

Ill Will is key part of this Nuggets team and will finally be able to add his consistency and athleticism to an extremely talent Nuggets squad.
