It appears that Danilo Gallinari refused a trade at the end of the trade deadline last season. Is that the beginning of hope for all Nuggets fans?
Let’s just recap what happened this summer. The Denver Nuggets had a spectacular draft, and then they almost re-signed one of the most coveted NBA legends still left, Dwyane Wade. That alone will help bring Denver back to life.
I mean, come on, look at these stats. 19.5 points per game is excellent. His true shooting percentage is also off of the charts because of his 85.2% free throw percentage.

But, this is almost just as big. The Italian was reportedly coveted by the Celtics and Clippers last season- almost certainly to help those teams on a playoff push, but Gallo loves it in Denver.

That is HUGE. A star like Gallo, who can at any time go off for 30 points in a game, loves Denver. If Gallinari can stay healthy, the Rooster could possible help them retain players and take them back to the promised land of the playoffs.
Players like Gallinari, Arthur, Chandler, Barton, and Faried are the key veteran presence. They will ultimately be the stepping stone to helping this team evolve into a playoff contender.
The refusing of this trade also relays the message to the rest of the NBA that Denver is a great place to play and a great organization. Danilo Gallinari has been a cornerstone for Denver in the past few season, and he will continue to help improve this team.
Right now, this does not have any immediate impact but just wait. If Connelly and Co. can pull of a trade for a star player next to this supporting cast, the results could be impressive.
This team may take a year or two, but by retaining their key players, they will soon rise to the top of the leaderboard yet again.
