DeMarcus Cousins, Kenneth Faried, Rudy Gay come together to create rare tri-flop-ta

Updated Mar. 5, 2020 1:22 a.m. ET

Basketball fans were treated to the rare tri-flop-ta effect on Monday night, as three NBA ballers all tried to force the refs to call a foul by falling at the same time.

The highly unique event, rarely seen in courtside settings, happened when the Sacramento Kings faced off against the Denver Nuggets. DeMarcus Cousins, Kenneth Faried and Rudy Gay came together to battle for position and flailed out again as if they were auditioning for a 1940s Esther Williams synchronized swimming flick.

It's not often you get to witness something meant to be messy blossom into what looked like a beautifully choreographed event. Will these players have to pay a few thousand dollars in fines? Most likely. But was it worth it? Well, the Kings topped Denver 110-105. So it probably was a laugh on the ride home for Gay and Cousins. For the fans witnessing this once-in-a-lifetime event? Priceless.
