Davis, Holiday out against Raptors

Published Jan. 18, 2015 2:58 p.m. ET

TORONTO (AP) New Orleans center Anthony Davis and guard Jrue Holiday are sitting out Sunday's game against the Raptors, their second straight game they've missed.

Davis remains sidelined with a sprained toe on his left foot suffered in Wednesday's win at Detroit, while Holiday has a sore right ankle. The pair also missed Friday's loss at Philadelphia.

Davis is averaging 24.2 points, 10.4 rebounds and 2.9 blocks. New Orleans has lost both games he's missed this season.

Pelicans coach Monty Williams said Davis could return for Monday's game at New York against the Knicks, but said he won't rush the former first overall pick back into the lineup because of how hard Davis plays.

Holiday, a former All-Star guard with the 76ers, is averaging 15.2 points and 7.1 assists.
