Craig Sager will finally be able to cash in on Cubs' World Series victory

For 35 years, TNT sideline reporter Craig Sager has had one tradition: bet $1,000 on the Chicago Cubs to win the World Series. And for 34 years, Sager, a lifelong Cubs fan, has seen another team soaked in champagne at the end of the season.

But all that changed Wednesday night, when the Cubs ended their 108-year title drought, rallying from a 3-1 series deficit to stun the Indians in extra innings.

Craig Sager II didn’t miss the chance to congratulate his father and the Cubs on Twitter on Thursday, sharing an excerpt of Craig Sr.’s book “Living Out Loud: Sports, Cancer, and the Things Worth Fighting For.”

The 65-year-old Sager, who threw out the first pitch at Wrigley Field in June, continues to fight an aggressive form of leukemia.
