Carmelo Anthony admits he's 'thought about' leaving New York

Carmelo Anthony's separation from the New York Knicks is inevitable. The writing is on the wall. As a 31-year-old on a team that's light years away from competing for a championship, ready to hire a new coach and start from the ground up around a 20-year-old phenom, Melo doesn't fit.
Anthony was honest about his future in New York during his exit interview on Thursday afternoon, and he finally sounded like a guy who's ready to prioritize winning above everything else:
With each passing day, it makes more and more logical sense for Anthony to waive his no-trade clause and go to a team with somewhat of a stable culture. He's still a very good player who can carry a decent offense on his shoulders. But Anthony may maximize his ability on a team that has an athletic point guard, defensive-minded wings and lots of three-point shooting.
A modern offense wouldn't hurt, either.
There's obvious intrigue in a Blake Griffin swap with the Los Angeles Clippers. But put Anthony on the Phoenix Suns, Orlando Magic or Washington Wizards and see what happens there as well (so long as those teams don't fork over too much of their present-day talent in the deal). The NBA may be a more interesting place with Anthony outside the Big Apple.
