Butler: Rose can talk 'unicorns and rainbows' as long as he helps Bulls win

When Derrick Rose said at media day that he was already eying free agency in 2017, it was a head-scratcher for the majority of the folks in Chicago.

Between his sneaker deal with adidas and his max-level contract with the Bulls, Rose is already among the game's most highly-compensated players, so talking about finances when his free agency is still two full seasons away certainly raised a few eyebrows.

But his teammates were mostly unfazed, and Jimmy Butler was fairly comical in getting that point across.

“I don’t care what the guy talks about as long as he’s helping us win games,” said Butler, who signed a $92.3 million deal this offseason. “Whatever he’s focused on let him be focused, but I think his objective is to win a championship. I’m pretty sure he talked about that as well — and how he wants to help this team win. Everything else, he is who he is.

“He can talk about unicorns and rainbows for all I care. Just help us win some basketball games.”
