Bulls C Joakim Noah to have left shoulder surgery

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 4:51 p.m. ET

CHICAGO (AP) Bulls center Joakim Noah likely will miss the rest of the season after he dislocated his left shoulder during the first half of a loss to Dallas.

The team says Noah was evaluated Saturday and will undergo surgery to stabilize his ailing shoulder. The procedure will sideline the 2014 NBA Defensive Player of the Year for four to six months.

Noah is averaging 4.3 points and 8.8 rebounds in the final year of his contract with Chicago. The team says the details for the surgery and rehabilitation program have not been finalized.

Before the surgery was announced, the Bulls recalled forward Cristiano Felicio from the Canton Charge of the NBA Development League.
