Blazers: Damian Lillard Speaks Up About Kaepernick

Damian Lillard does not shy away from the question at the Blazers media day
Damain Lillard has never had a problem speaking up and being a leader. Entering another season as the clear leader of the Portland Trail Blazers, Lillard spoke about what Colin Kaepernick’s protest of the national anthem:
I don’t have a plan, but it’s certainly something I’m aware of and something I’m affected by and a lot of people are affected by. I’m sure I’ll come up with something – I’m not sure what, but I think what Colin Kaepernick is doing takes a strong person. He’s standing up for what he believes in and rightfully so.
Later in the conversation, Lillard reassured the media that something will be done – but he’s just not sure what at this point.
Given Lillard’s status on the team – it’s likely that some other Trail Blazers will follow suit. Dame is a leader in the locker room and a big brother to many of the role players. If you know anything about Lillard, you can bet that his protest will be peaceful and not done to draw attention to him personally.
