Barnes, Curry Lead Dallas Into New York

As crazy as it sounds, the Dallas Mavericks will be lead by Harrison Barnes and Seth Curry Monday when they face off with the New York Knicks.

If you followed the NBA last season, it would be insane to hear Harrison Barnes or a guy with the last name of Curry that doesn’t have a first name of Steph to be leading a team into a ball game. But, the short handed Mavericks will lean on their two new, young faces Monday night against the New York Knicks.

Wes Matthews needs to have a big game as well, but it seems he will be locked into Carmelo Anthony on the defensive end for the majority of the game. That’s where he’ll mainly contribute, so any type of offense from him is a bonus.

Dirk Nowitzki and Deron Williams will both miss Monday’s contest, as they are both dealing with nagging injuries. Seth Curry will get the start in Williams’ spot, and this is why he needs to step his game up tonight and lead the team.  Curry has had two great games his last two outings, and will look to continue the roll he’s been on here lately.

Harrison Barnes has been lights out his first month as a Maverick, and has more than filled the role his max contract expected of him. Barnes will be the main leader of the offense, and everything should go through him as it has so far this season. Harrison Barnes will look to lead the team himself on Monday night.

The Knicks and Mavericks have had similar struggles to start the season, as they’re both trying to get new faces to gel together. We’ll find out who’s gotten the chemistry down more on Monday night when the Mavericks go to the Garden. Let’s go Mavs.
