Andre Iguodala: The Thunder should have won the 2016 title

The Oklahoma City Thunder are no longer title contenders —€” not after Kevin Durant signed with the Golden State Warriors. But Warriors forward Andre Iguodala said he believes the Thunder should have won the 2016 title.

Talking to The Breakfast Club, Iguodala said Oklahoma City was the best team in last year's playoffs, better than the Warriors, and better than the eventual champion Cavaliers.

Iguodala felt uninhibited saying that, apparently, because Durant has signed with Golden State.

"Now that we got KD, I can say it —€” they were the best team in the league last year, in the playoffs. They were better than us, and they were better than Cleveland."

"They should have won a championship," Iguodala said.

So why didn't the Thunder, who were up 3-1 on the Warriors in the Western Conference Finals, win?

"We hawked them down. But they were better than us. They played us better than anybody. They played us better than Cleveland," Iguodala said. "They had our number."
