76ers sign first-round picks Simmons and Luwawu-Cabarrot

PHILADELPHIA (AP) The 76ers have signed first-round picks Ben Simmons and Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot.

Both players are expected to join Philadelphia's summer league team to play in Las Vegas. Simmons was the No. 1 overall pick. Luwawu-Cabarrot was chosen at No. 24.

Simmons averaged 19 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block in his only season at LSU.

Luwawu-Cabarrot most recently played for KK Mega Leks in the ABA League JTD. The 21-year-old averaged 14 points, five rebounds and three assists in 33 games last season. Luwawu-Cabarrot represented France in the 2015 U-20 European Championship. He averaged 12 points, five rebounds and two steals in 28 minutes per game.
