2012 lottery all about the kids

Here is NBADraft.Net's initial projection of the 2012 NBA draft's lottery selections:

1. Anthony Davis, Kentucky, Fr.

6-10, 208, PF

Davis has a 7-foot-4 wingspan and the skills of a guard after growing seven inches in the summer before his senior year.

2. Harrison Barnes, North Carolina, Soph.

6-8, 215, SF

Might have gone No. 1 in 2011. Will look to round out his game as a sophomore and lead the Tar Heels back to glory.

3. James McAdoo, North Carolina, Fr.

6-9, 223, SF/PF

James is the nephew of NBA Top 50 great Bob McAdoo. Has the potential to leapfrog teammate Barnes and Davis and go first in 2012.

4. Perry Jones, Baylor, Soph.

6-11, 235, SF/PF

Considered a likely top-five pick, stunned everyone by returning. Has as much talent as anyone; will everything come together this year for him?

5. Quincy Miller, Baylor, Fr.

6-9, 200, SF

Injury puts his stock in question. Gets Durant comparisons due to his length and isolation ability.

6. Jared Sullinger, Ohio State, Soph.

6-9, 286, PF

Sullinger returns giving Buckeyes an excellent chance to reach the Final Four. Lacks great lift, but tremendous strength and skill level.

7. Jeremy Lamb, Connecticut, Soph.

6-5, 185, SG

UConn's unsung postseason hero. Has an obscene wingspan, ice water running through his veins and came out of nowhere last year.

8. Marquis Teague, Kentucky, Fr.

6-2, 178, PG

Teague is a freakish athlete similar to his brother Jeff, only more explosive and with better strength and point guard skills.

9. Myck Kabongo, Texas, Fr.

6-2, 160, PG

If he gets a jump shot, it's going to be impossible to guard him. Some feel he has the most long-term upside of anyone in the entire class.

10. Brad Beal, Florida, Fr.

6-4, 196, SG

Ray Allen clone. Incredibly polished and skilled for an 18-year-old. Beal would be projected as a top-five pick if he were two inches taller. He has a chance, anyway.

11. Austin Rivers, Duke, Fr.

6-4, 198, PG/SG

A talented and aggressive offensive player, but should look to improve point guard skills.

12. Michael Gilchrist, Kentucky, Fr.

6-6, 216, SF

Gilchrist has long been considered the top player in his class. He brings length, and energy and an ever-improving skill set.

13. Adonis Thomas, Memphis, Fr.

6-7, 217, SF

Thomas is a freak athlete with strength and a high motor. His jump-shot is still a work in progress.

14. Terrence Jones, Kentucky, Soph.

6-8, 244, SF

Like a number of other players on this list, Jones surprised everyone by returning to school. He will look to build on an excellent freshman season.
