Monday’s game between the Baltimore Orioles and Chicago White Sox has been postponed amid the riots in the Maryland city, the team announced on Twitter that afternoon.

The team also told fans that a makeup date would be scheduled, and that fans were encouraged to keep tickets and parking info until further notice.

Protesters gathered Saturday in response to the Freddie Gray case and tried to get that game canceled. On Monday, people gathered and began looting stores and getting into it with the police. The state declared the situation a national emergency and activated the Maryland National Guard.

Monday’s movement seemed to be activated via students on social media. Eduardo Encina, a Baltimore Sun report and Orioles beat writer, tweeted photos from outside Camden Yards showing officers stationed outside the park allowing fans inside.
