Walt Weiss returns to Rockies dugout
After missing three games due to an appendectomy, Rockies manager Walt Weiss returned to the dugout on Saturday night. He was treated a 7-1 victory by his Rockies over the Dodgers including a quality start from Jorge De La Rosa.
Since the Southern California hospital he was in did not carry the local Dodgers broadcast, he actually followed the game through his computer. According to Rockies beat writer Thomas Harding, Weiss said the following about following Thursday night’s game:
"When 'CarGo' hit that home run, the computer said, '…in play, runs,' and I was saying, 'How many?'" said Weiss, who said he immediately texted Dugger (Rockies head athletic trainer Keith Dugger) when he heard about Tulowitzki's injury. "My son was in the room next to mine and he heard me yell, 'Yeah!' He came in and I told him 'CarGo' hit a three-run homer.”
