The Word on 35th Street Podcast: White Sox Season Finale

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

After a successful four episodes, hosts Anders Johanson and Owen Schoenfeld return for the final podcast of the White Sox 2016 season. The team brings you thoughts and analysis on the Rick Renteria signing/promotion that occurred on Monday afternoon, breaking down what this could mean for the White Sox moving forward. Anders and Owen also take a look some reactions from White Sox fans across various social media platforms. How will the White Sox transition from the Robin Ventura era to the Rick Renteria era? How will Renteria’s experience with the Cubs benefit the White Sox in their attempt to rebuild and become competitive again? What do fans think of the signing?

The 2016 season was long and confusing, and was capped off by a Bob Nightengale piece for USA Today that added even more fuel to the confusion fire. Anders and Owen discuss said piece and talk about how the soap opera of a season concluded, complete with a conspiracy theory that just may prove plausible as things play out.

Anders and Owen have a detailed plan for podcast content throughout the offseason and fans of the podcast can look forward to at least one episode per month, as well as emergency episodes as needed. With no baseball actually being played it gets difficult to find things to talk about but rest assured that there will be podcasts from November to February. Special guests and statistical breakdowns galore!
