Texas Rangers: Time To Tune Up Roster And Finish Right
The Texas Rangers would like to welcome you to the final stretch of the season. Judging from their last 3 series, they are very eager to provide you with the best product possible as they continue to dominate the A.L. West.
25 regular season games are all that lies ahead for the Texas Rangers before they start their playoff route in hopes for a World Series Championship. Coming off of 3 series wins against the Indians, Mariners, and Astors. It seems the Rangers are ready to carry that momentum through the end of the remaining season.
These Texas Rangers will be facing familiar division foes for most of the 25 games left by starting with a 4 game stint vs. the Mariners. Of the 8 series left and all of them being 3 games except for that Mariner one, they will play 2 series vs. the Angels and A’s, and 1 series vs. the Astors, Brewers, and Rays.
What does all of this mean? The average record for the rest of the teams that the Rangers will face is 63-73. As it stands right now, there are only 2 of the 6 remaining opponents have a record over .500. There is a good chance this stretch is the best remaining schedule for any division leader in the MLB.
The position group that looks to be needing the most work moving forward would have to be the bullpen. The Rangers coaching has added Jose Leclerc to the bullpen so to provide some protection for Keone Kela and Tony Barnette. Barnette has been the most consistent pitcher out of the pen this year and Kela looks to still be needing to be worked into shape down the stretch.

Bringing up Jose Leclerc will also provide him the experience of being around the big leagues. This is something that could be a big deal since he looks to be a key piece for the Rangers in 2017. The Texas Rangers have built a large lead that will allow them to possibly use a 6 man rotation with Colby Lewis joining the team sometime over the next week. This is the polishing stage that the Texas Rangers have created for themselves.
