Starters will get their rest ... later

So far the Pirates lineup has seemingly consisted of the same players day after day.

There has not been a lot of shuffling of players or rest in the early going as the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review points out.

"Neil Walker entered play Wednesday having played in all 21 of the Pirates' games. Fellow regulars Andrew McCutchen, Starling Marte, Pedro Alvarez and Josh Harrison played in 20 games."

However, this pace can't keep up and Hurdle did say in Spring Training that he wanted to utilize his bench more this season.

So when will that take place?

"It will happen more as the volume of play picks up, as the season starts to grind a little bit," Hurdle said.
