Stanton hits 504-foot HR, longest ever at Coors Field

DENVER (AP) Home Run Derby champion Giancarlo Stanton hit a homer an estimated 504 feet for Miami at Coors Field on Saturday.

It was the longest homer in the majors this season and the longest in the 22-year history of Coors Field. The previous mark was 496 feet by Hall of Fame catcher Mike Piazza on Sept. 26, 1997 off Darren Holmes. Holmes is the bullpen coach for Colorado now.

It was Stanton's 23rd homer this season. He also hit one measured at 494 feet in Coors Field on Aug. 17, 2012.
