The Seattle Mariners have agreed to a minor league contract with Josh Bard and invited him to spring training.

The Mariners announced the deal Tuesday. Seattle has 14 non-roster invitees for spring training.

The 32-year-old Bard played in 39 games for Seattle in 2010, hitting .214 with seven doubles, three homers and 10 RBIs. He started the season with Triple-A Tacoma before joining the Mariners in May. He has spent parts of the last nine seasons in the majors with Cleveland, Boston, San Diego, Washington and Seattle.

Bard is expected to compete with Adam Moore and Miguel Olivo for playing time behind the plate.
